British footwear brand Clarks has entered into an exclusive partnership with Metro Brands Limited to re-establish its presence in India. Under the long-term agreement, Metro Brands will act as Clarks’ exclusive retail and digital partner for India and neighboring countries including Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, and Sri Lanka.
The partnership gives Metro Brands full rights to manage Clarks’ e-commerce operations in India, including the official Clarks India website and all other digital commerce platforms. Metro will also handle offline retail through exclusive Clarks mono-brand stores.
Joe Ulloa, Clarks President – UK & EMEA, said “We are excited about our new partnership with Metro Brands. India has always been a market with deep appreciation for quality and timeless style, and we are confident this collaboration will bring the best of Clarks’ legacy in comfort and craftsmanship to a new generation of customers.”
Nissan Joseph, CEO, Metro Brands Limited, added, “With our deep-rooted understanding of India’s diverse retail landscape and consumer preferences, we are committed to partner with Clarks in a way that’s more relevant, resonant, and retail-focused than ever before. We will ensure the brand reaches its full potential in the country through thoughtfully curated product selections, premium store formats, and a seamless omnichannel experience.”
The partnership marks Clarks’ official re-entry into the Indian market, targeting the premium comfort footwear segment. Metro Brands recently opened its 900th store in India and manages a portfolio of Indian and global brands including Metro Shoes, Mochi, Crocs, FitFlop, and Footlocker.
Clarks, founded in 1825 in Somerset, England, is known for its comfort-driven footwear and iconic designs like the Desert Boot and Wallabee.
