The 81st National Garment Fair (NGF), organised by the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), concluded on a high note with a record business turnover of approximately Rs 2500 crore and a turnout of nearly 50,000 buyers from across India.
Held in two segments — Kidswear last month, followed by Women’s and Men’s Wear from July 14 to 16 — the NGF 2025 edition has been one of the largest apparel trade fairs in the country. The Women’s and Men’s Wear segment alone featured over 800 brands along with 40+ accessories labels, while the Kidswear segment showcased 590 brands.
Who Participated?
The fair saw strong participation from retailers, distributors, agents, and wholesalers, with exhibitors reporting healthy order bookings ahead of the festive season. The event drew attention from prominent retail players such as Sohum Shoppe, GV Mall, Asopalav, Pakiza Retails, Shree Shivam Attire, and others.
Santosh Katariya, President of CMAI said, “The Indian apparel landscape is undergoing a significant transformation, shaped by a young, aspirational, and trendsetter consumer base. Today’s consumers are no longer confined to traditional fashion norms—they are increasingly embracing contemporary styles that seamlessly blend global trends with Indian sensibilities. As incomes grow and choices evolve, apparel is becoming a more occasional and lifestyle-led category, opening new opportunities for brands, designers, manufacturers and retailers.”
Rohit Munjal, Vice President and Chairman of the Fair Sub-Committee, CMAI, said, “This edition reflected how trade events are helping brands to shape the Indian apparel market. This year, buyers at both segments were able to have focused and productive sourcing time which helped drive strong order placements. The overall response has been very encouraging and satisfying with a record visitor turnout that exceeded expectations.”
Anand Chokshi, Joint Chairman, Fair Sub-Committee, CMAI, said, “The Indian apparel market is experiencing unprecedented transformation, as tier-2 and tier-3 cities drive real growth beyond traditional metro markets.”
Participants echoed the fair’s success, with brands such as Tandhan Fashion, Linen and Linens Wear, REME Lifestyle, VANAM by SBS, Dadu Apparels, and Aditya Shirts praising the footfall, buyer quality, and overall organisation.
Organised biannually, NGF continues to be a key platform for national and regional apparel brands, designers, manufacturers, and retailers to connect, collaborate, and discover market opportunities.
