Denim and apparel brand Numero Uno launched a new collection of sustainable denim, emphasizing its commitment to environmental responsibility. The new line features denims crafted from eco-friendly materials and processes, aiming to reduce water, energy, and chemical usage, thereby minimizing the carbon footprint on the environment.
“Our process of making sustainable denims includes using eco-friendly materials and processes that significantly reduce water usage and pollution. Using organic cotton, which requires less water and no harmful pesticides to grow, and using less toxic dyes and treatments, makes these jeans not only better for the environment but also the workers involved in their production. Besides being sustainable, these denims are designed to last longer and are supremely comfortable for the wearer,” Manjula Gandhi, Chief Product Officer, Numero Uno said.
Numero Uno’s commitment to water conservation is evident throughout its production stages. The brand utilizes Zero Liquid Discharge technology, boasting an impressive 98.5% efficacy in recycling and reusing water. Moreover, innovative technologies such as conveyorized line drying, laser, G2 Ozone, E-Flow, and Blue Sign chemicals, combined with sustainable laundry processes, enable Numero Uno to conserve water, energy, and chemicals by 55-60%. The brand aims to intensify these efforts, targeting sustainability goals of 85-90% within the next 4-5 years.
