Nishant Poddar Joins The House of Rare as Chief Marketing Officer

The House of Rare has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Nishant Poddar as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). In his new role, Poddar will lead brand marketing, communication, content, digital marketing, community building, and consumer experience across the Group’s growing portfolio, which includes Rare Rabbit, Rareism, Rare Ones, and Rare’z.

Poddar joins The House of Rare after a long and impactful stint at WROGN, where he served as Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Retail Experience. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in shaping WROGN’s brand narrative, retail identity, and digital ecosystem, helping transform it into one of India’s most culturally resonant youth fashion brands. His work at WROGN has been widely recognised within the industry for its originality, emotional depth, and strong cultural connect with young consumers.

With over two decades of experience in brand building and storytelling, Poddar brings a deep understanding of fashion, lifestyle, and consumer behaviour. Known for his belief that “simplicity strikes harder,” his approach to marketing has consistently focused on emotional truth over noise—creating brand stories that connect deeply and endure meaningfully.

Before WROGN, Poddar spent nearly nine years with Café Coffee Day, where he held multiple marketing leadership roles and gained strong experience in large-format retail, consumer engagement, and brand-led growth. Earlier in his career, he also worked with Sealand Container Services, giving him early exposure to operations before transitioning fully into marketing.

An alumnus of IIM Calcutta, with additional leadership and marketing credentials from Wharton Online and IIT Bombay, Poddar blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution. His work sits at the intersection of design, data, and human behaviour, an approach that aligns closely with The House of Rare’s ambition to build differentiated, community-led fashion brands.

With this appointment, The House of Rare signals a sharper focus on building cohesive brand narratives, strengthening consumer experience, and scaling its portfolio with cultural relevance at the core. As the group continues to expand its presence across categories and channels, Poddar’s leadership is expected to play a key role in shaping the next phase of its brand journey.
