Global sportswear and athleisure brand Adidas on Thursday  unveiled their home and away federation kits which are created for the national teams to be worn on the biggest sporting event, the FIFA World Cup 2022. These 6 national teams are of Argentina, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Spain, Wales

Through these federation kits, Adidas is aiming to showcase creativity and an opportunity to capture the spirit of each nation with design features influenced by key cultural touch points. They have used dynamic colour spectrums representing each unique national identity, with progressive graphics inspired by the future, a company press release said.

Jürgen Rank, Senior Design Director Football at Adidas said that it is crucial to keep in mind that these designs will become a part of legendary footballing history, when designing the national team kits. “For us it’s crucial first and foremost to create kits that equip the world’s greatest footballing athletes with performance-led apparel that helps them unlock their highest level of play, while at the same time always featuring unique and unforgettably iconic designs that are bold, eye-catching and create a true sense of excitement amongst fans all across the globe,” he said.

According to the release, they have given top priority to performance and sustainability, keeping the design consistent and showcasing both creativity and simplicity. Through this they want to enable players to be the best versions of themselves on the pitch.

Interestingly, fuelling their commitment to end plastic waste, the kits are made from 100% recycled plastic waste. The Authentic breathable kits for Argentina, Germany, Japan, Mexico and Spain contain 50% Parley Ocean Plastic. Parley Ocean Plastic is intercepted on remote islands, beaches, coastal communities, and shorelines preventing it from polluting our oceans.

Each shirt from the kit features adidas’ fabric innovation. While the kits for Argentina, Germany, Japan, Mexico and Spain are constructed using materials and textures to help keep players feeling cool with HEAT.RDY technology, the hand AEROREADY technology in the Welsh kit uses sweat wicking materials to keep players feeling dry.
