Authentic Brands Group names Sanjeet Mehta as EVP, Head of India

Authentic Brands Group (Authentic) has appointed Sanjeet Mehta as Executive Vice President, Head of India, marking a strategic move to strengthen its presence in the fast-growing market.

Mehta, a seasoned leader with over 25 years of experience in retail, licensing, and business development, previously served as Executive Director at The Walt Disney Company, overseeing consumer products and retail across India, the Middle East, and South Asia. He has also held leadership roles at Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein Underwear, Nimbus Communications, and Villeroy & Boch.

In his new role, Mehta will focus on expanding Authentic’s brand footprint, forging key partnerships, and driving revenue growth in India. He will report to Henry Stupp, Regional President, EMEIA, as the company accelerates its retail, e-commerce, and licensing strategies in the region.

As part of its global strategy, Authentic is focused on building strong retail, e-commerce and licensing partnerships in India, which presents a significant opportunity to expand the company’s diverse brand portfolio. With Mehta’s experience in brand management and business development, Authentic aims to establish a robust market presence across key categories, including fashion, sports, home, and entertainment.

Authentic, which owns over 50 global brands including Reebok, Champion, Nautica, Brooks Brothers, and Ted Baker, generates approximately $32 billion in annual retail sales and operates in 150 countries. Mehta assumed his new role on March 10.
